Hello friends and welcome to my Beat Laboratory! My name is Nick. I
am 22 years old and have been making music for over 10 years. I have a deep passion for creating music and producing that I hope to be able to share with you through this blog.
I have come quite a long way in the last decade. Over the years I have invested countless hours and
hard earned money into my home studio. Being a college student living away from
home on a tight budget, I know how difficult it is to not be able to afford proper
equipment or dedicate as much time to our craft as we would like. But over the
years I have learned many tricks and techniques that will maximize quality and
minimize the frustration in the recording process.
The purpose that I hope to fulfill with this blog is to show people that you can make good quality home recordings with a simple and relatively inexpensive setup and provide an open forum for other musicians and producers to promote their work and offer their advice. Even more than having good gear, recording is about technique and passion. Even if a project doesn’t have that perfect “studio” sound, a good producer can do the best with what they have to make the song stand out. After all, it’s really supposed to be about the MUSIC right?
